Srinagar, Oct 16 (KNO): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Ward Officer of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Safa Kadal, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of rupees 10,000, the agency said on Friday. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the CBI said it registered a case on October 15, 2026, based on a complaint alleging that the accused had demanded rupees 10,000 to allow the continuation of minor renovation work at the complainant’s residence. The agency said it laid a trap on October 15 and caught the accused red-handed while allegedly demanding and accepting the bribe amount from the complainant.
